Patient Support Groups

CARERS GROUP

The CMH Carers Group meets monthly and plays a key role in advocating for improvement in services in addition to providing peer support for carers. Members of the Carers Group also participate in the induction programme for new staff.

A Carers education programme is provided by the hospital, twice an year for new carers and is coordinated by the social work department.

IRISH ADVOCACY NETWORK
A full time advocate is employed and is available to all patients. The advocate visits each unit on weekly basis.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS
Members of the “AA” hold meetings at the hospital twice a week on a Sunday morning and on a Wednesday evening. It is recommended that patients discuss attendance at AA meetings with their MDT.

GROW
GROW has a weekly personal growth and development programme which all patients are encouraged to attend

THE SIMON COMMUNITY
Volunteers from the Simon Community visit weekly

THE PATIENTS FORUM
The patients have formed a forum which has their own elected officers. They meet regularly together and also meet with staff.
